Denise Green, ‘Kobble Creek’,

Oil on composition board, 43.5 x 59cm (62 x 77.5cm framed), signed lower right “D GREEN”. Flowing washes of colour merge to create this loosely painted landscape. Although traditional in form, the considered use of negative space and gestural brushstrokes hint at an early step towards abstraction.
The artist is likely New York based artist Denise Green, who was born in Brisbane in 1946 and had a major retrospective exhibition at UQ Art Museum in 2016 entitled Beyond and Between – A Painter’s Journey. Available for local pickup, otherwise courier to be arranged and paid for by bidder.
