Lieutenant Geoffrey Chapman Ingleton of the Royal Australian Navy was one of Australia’s foremost maritime historians and a gifted artist. Known as a skilled marine illustrator, he was also an enthusiastic ship model builder and collector of rare books, manuscripts, documents, ships logs, maps, drawings and paintings concerning early Australia, particularly maritime exploration.
