How does it work?
Selling at auction can be a complicated activity - it doesn't need to be.At Roxbury's we make things easy, providing a simple and secure six-step process to selling.
1. You are ready to sell
Gather information and photos, and get in touch with our team.
2. Complete the paperwork
This will guide our research, marketing and cataloguing.
3. Get your item/s to us
Drop by our offices or ship to us, alternatively we can come to you.
4. Pre-auction approval
You approve the lot information, reserve and price estimates.
5. Sell at auction
Sit back, relax, and watch the bids come in on auction day!
6. Receive payment
Prompt, secure payments under Queensland Trust Account laws.

Antiques
You’ll often find ancient artefacts and rare antiques in our Signature Sale auctions.
From commemorative items to unique souvenirs, fine china, early silverware, royal trinkets and more – if it has a history there’s a good chance it will go in an auction!
Coins & Banknotes
We hold dedicated coin and banknote auctions throughout the year, as well as selling high value coins and collections in our Signature Sales.
Our focus is on premium, scarce items, typically high grade and highly sought after. From ancient currencies to early sovereigns, Australian pre-decimal and decimal varieties, mint sets and errors, as well as a wide range of world coins and banknotes.

During the consignment period all items are stored in our highly secure head office in Brisbane.
For consignments over $25,000AUD, you will receive a complimentary safety deposit box thanks to our secure storage partner, Imperial Vaults.
The state-of-the-art vault facility incorporates multiple layers of security, ensuring the safety and security of your precious items.

1. Send us the details
Tell us about your item or collection, and organise to have it appraised.
This can be done in-person at one of our locations, or we can travel to you.
2. Valuation and approval
Our experienced team will conduct a thorough appraisal of your item/s.
You will then receive an accurate offer at the best price.
3. Receive payment
Once both parties have agreed to a price, you will receive payment.
You can elect to receive cash or be paid via bank transfer.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Roxbury's buyer's premium?
Buyer’s premium is a standard auction charge that the winning bidder pays on top of the item’s hammer price.
Our buyer’s premium is in line with the industry standard, at 22% incl. GST.
How do I get my item/s to Roxbury's?
You can bring or send your items to one of our office locations in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney. Alternatively, we can arrange to meet and collect your items at a location that suits you.
What happens if my consignment has not sold?
The consignee will cover the insurance and return shipment of the items following the auction. Alternatively you can pick up your items from our head office in Brisbane.
We can also discuss the possibility of holding your items, and carrying them forward to the next appropriate auction.
How do I check if an item is valuable?
We recommend doing some basic research before getting in touch, a quick Google can answer a lot of questions.
Following this, contact us to organise an appraisal of your items or collection. We can do this remotely, or at one of our locations in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney.
What if I need funds now?
We regularly buy items and collections directly from those who are unable or unwilling to wait until auction.
Our experienced team provide fair and accurate valuations of your goods, meaning you get paid competitively and correctly.
Are my items insured while in Roxbury's possession?
All items being auctioned are securely stored and insured at our head office in Brisbane. For consignments over AUD$25,000, you will receive a complimentary safety deposit box through our premium storage partner, Imperial Vaults.
Are the funds from my consignment secure?
Unlike other states and territories, Queensland law requires all auction houses to operate a Trust Account for their services.
We hold ourselves to the highest regulatory requirements, ensuring vendor protection and financial security.
When will I receive the funds from my consigned items?
All funds received from the consignments will be paid to all consignors within 30 days of the auction being completed, in line with Trust Account law.
